Americans: Would it make any difference to you at all if the pledge of allegiance was changed to:?

What does the pledge if allegiance have to with my own life? I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape when people want to omit under God or whatever. How does that effect their own faith? It doesn't.

Just lost baby, should i take new job?

i have currently been working at home at my job only part time. i have full benefits and all the perks. i just had a baby who passed shortly after and now being with my family is very important to me. my partner works at home also so we see each other most of the time. we get along wonderfully as well as the fact we have a nanny that watches them at the house. at my current job, ive just been offered a fulltime position but they cannot garauntee that i will be able to work at home or not. i live 1 hr away from the site. from what they have told me, before training, i will need to turn in my at home computer and everything. i will be making good money, its 8-5 and only one saturday a month. so far we have been dependent on my partner to bring in the money but i know this money will help us lot, especially since we have hired a surrogate an dcould possibly be having twins in this next year. however we are not in dire need- but we dont know the future. my main issue is not being able to spend time with my family the way that i have been. i know lots of people would love to have a job but again this is the same company that i have been working for for 4 years. my family is very important especially with what just happened, i want to treasure all of my time with them but do u think the extra money will be worth it in the long run? i am also in school right now. just wanna know wjhat u guys think. its a real tug of war.

Which name is better: Brooklyn or Abigale?

I like Abigail better than Brooklynn, but then I like Brooke better than Abby... I think Abigail's more common than Brooklynn, so I'd say Brooklynn :)

Westminster Abbey or The Dakota?

I'd probably go with Westminster Abbey. Although the Dakota dates to the 1880s, it's really it's association with John Lennon that makes it famous today. The gothic churches of Europe tend to be well renowned for their appearances. There's quite a bit to the architecture of the churches that make them alike, but also quite a bit that make them different from each other. Add to that the fact that Westminster Abbey is also the final resting place for Percy Shelly, the Bronte sisters, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Laurence Olivier, Lord Byron, Robert Burns, Alferd Lord Tennyson, Issac Newton, Charles Darwin, Elizabeth I, William Shakespear, Henry V, among many other noteables and also containsthe tomb of The Unknown Warrior for a British WWI soldier and the interest actually rises. Their buried inside the portions of the Abbey and it's considered a great honor to be laid to rest there. That actually increases interest in it as folks like to visit the final resting place of famous individuals.

What Could I have Done Differently?

My Guinea Pig sow died Saturday from childbirth. I'm not sure exactly how old she was, but my guess is 7 months or so. She had two still born pups on Friday night at 9:30 pm- they were obviously under-developed because they had no hair, fused eyelids and ear buds that were not fully formed. After she had them, I removed them from the cage to let her rest...but I saw no blood, placenta or cords of any kind. The next day she was lethargic and obviously in pain. I noticed some bloody discharge in her cage. I wrapped her in a towel and put a hot compress on her to try to induce the discharge of the placenta and rubbed her belly gently. She seemed septic already and was shivering, and I though of giving her infants tylenol susp.-but I didn't want to give her anything that could damage her liver. My only thought was if the placenta didn't come out, or another pup was in there...she would die of sepsis. So, I put gentle pressure on her belly right above her vagina and held onto the cord coming out of her, but didn't tug or pull...yet she died on my lap after about a minute of trying at around 4pm, less than 24 hours after giving birth. I find it hard to believe she was that septic already. Was it me pulling the cord? Maybe the babies were dead for awhile and she was septic from that to begin with? I have no experience with this and her widow will remain alone because I DO NOT want to deal with this again. Does anyone have any input? Is this common?
