Why are people falling for the same lies and propaganda with Libya that they fell for with Iraq?

Amnesty & Human Rights Watch have both reported that there is NO evidence of Libyan troops using mass rape as a weapon to terrorise civilians. They also found that the reported mass killings of civilians was a huge overstatement, particularly when compared to the regimes of Yemen, Bahrain, Saudi etc in dealing with protestors. This is all very reminiscent of the reports of Iraqi soldiers throwing babies out of incubators during the Kuwait invasion, which massively increased public support for Desert Storm, and which was later proven to be a complete fabrication.
