My cousin & me think we've discovered something that scientists haven't, who can we tell?

We’ve been doing a lot of research on the subject, and haven’t found any evidence that it has already been discovered, and he wanted to get on facebook and blab to all the strangers on his friends list -_- but im not sure if is ok to tell anyone yet. lets pretend it is really something huge, and definitely undiscovered like proving that God exists, or that there is an edge to the universe (impossible, of course!) what if someone older or famous took the idea and we have no way to prove that it was ours, then what? so Who can/should he tell? Is there someone he can email?
