How long will it take for me to get a court date on a ticket? Chances of me winning?

I wasn't speeding so I'm not sure if that's different or not. I had pulled into a gas station to use the bathroom to only find out it was closed and pulled out. I got pulled over. The cop thought I had been drinking (which I had not been). He then wrote me a ticket saying I was trying to beat the light. I could have made a left (which was where I was heading when I pulled out) because the light was green but had decided not to because I didn't want to make a left then another left to enter the gas station. Also, it was 2 am and NO ONE was on the road, so therefor there was no reason for me to try to beat the light. The cop was also involved in beating up a person who was pulled over along with other cops when there was no evidence the guy resisted arrest. He sued them but not sure if he won. That was about a year ago I believe. I had gotten pulled over about 2 to 3 weeks ago. So do you think I'll win? And when will I get the court date? I won't be in town for the first half of July and I am leaving for college late August. Can I change my court date if need be? Thank in advance!
